Services

For every phase of the PLM lifecycle

Our services cover the entire PLM lifecycle, from initial analysis through implementation, migration, integration and customization to ongoing operation.

01

Consulting and solution design

A PLM project is only as good as the decisions made at the outset. Together with your business units and IT, we clarify which processes will be mapped in PLM, which data is needed in which structure and how adjacent systems will be connected.

Our advice comes from the same team that implements it. Our recommendations are therefore based on solutions that are technically feasible and can be operated over the long term.

  • Analysis of the existing system landscape, processes and data structures
  • Assessment and optimization of existing PLM installations
  • Requirements gathering with business units and IT
  • Fit-gap analysis against the platform standard
  • Target processes and target architecture
  • Cloud strategy and transition planning
  • Roles and responsibilities in future processes
  • Evaluation of solution approaches
  • Planning of migration and implementation

Proof of concept

Testing critical assumptions upfront

With a proof of concept, we check before the project starts whether the planned target structure works, what transferring your data really involves and where the effort lies. This gives you a solid basis for your decision.

  1. As-is analysis

System landscape, processes and data in their actual state.

  2. Critical assumptions

Which assumptions is the project based on and which of them have not yet been tested?

  3. Prototype in the system

We build the decisive part in the target platform, not in a slide deck.

  4. Assessment

We document what the results mean for target structure, effort and sequence, even if they suggest adjusting the plan.

02

Migration and implementation

Before we implement or migrate, we work with you to clarify how your processes run today, how they should run in future and which data they require in which quality.

On this basis, we set up the platform for your processes, transfer existing configurations and extensions when replacing a system, and connect your systems. We bring your data into the new structure, whether from a legacy system or from spreadsheets and network drives. Whether the switch happens in one step or gradually depends on the system landscape and the number of users.

  • Implementation of your processes, workflows and approvals on the target platform
  • Configuration and custom extensions, newly built or transferred from the legacy system
  • Connection of CAD, ERP and other systems
  • Mapping of data model, status and revision logic, and permissions
  • Cleansing and transfer of metadata, documents and CAD data, with versions and release history
  • Handling of open change orders
  • Test, cut-off date and delta migrations with reconciliation against legacy data, parallel operation if required
  • Rollout across user groups and sites, user training and go-live
  • Stabilization, archiving and orderly shutdown of the legacy system

The most demanding part of a migration is usually not transporting the data, but deciding which data is transferred in which structure and how processes are best set up in the new system.

03

Integration and customization

A PLM system comes with standard processes out of the box that do not always match your company's requirements. We adapt the system to your organization, for example to release and authorization processes, compliance rules or reporting requirements.

The result is a system that truly reflects the way you work, which is why users work with it instead of around it.

  • Adaptation of workflows, change and release processes
  • Role and permission models
  • Mapping of compliance and documentation requirements
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Data models and object structures
  • BOM management, from engineering to manufacturing BOM
  • Variant and configuration management
  • Connection of MCAD, ECAD, ERP and other adjacent systems
  • Data integration and data quality
  • Custom developments and connectors
  • Automation of recurring tasks
04

Operations and ongoing development

After go-live, we support your system in ongoing operation, regardless of who implemented it. We assist your key users and administrators, resolve issues, install updates and implement new requirements. This also includes simplifying architectures and connecting new systems or sites.

A new release can change the standard. That is why we review and test custom developments and interfaces and adapt them – if necessary – from preparation through to sign-off.

  • Support for key users and administrators
  • Release upgrades and updates
  • Maintenance of custom developments and interfaces
  • Analysis of system health and performance
  • Functional enhancements during operation
  • Training for users and administrators, documentation
